여름방학을 보내는 방법으로 일본 대학생들에 특유한 것이 있다. 단기간에 운전면허증을 따기 위해 지방에서 합숙을 한다. 대학교 3학년이 되면 취업 준비로 시간 잡기가 어려워지기 때문에 2학년 때까지 운전면허를 따려는 것이다. 일본에서 운전 면허증을 따려면 자동차운전학원에 다니고 이수해야 하는 시간수가 정해져 있다.
The writing is clear overall — but three small errors make it sound unnatural to a native Korean speaker.
Correction 1: 에 vs 에게 — Who Are You Talking About?
Before: 일본 대학생들에 특유한 것이 있다 After: 일본 대학생들에게는 독특한 것이 있다
When describing something as "unique to" a group of people, use 에게 — not 에.
- 에 → for places, things, directions
- 에게 → for people and animals
Diary tip: Writing "this is common among [group of people]"? If it is people → use 에게.

- 시간을 잡다 = to literally grab/catch something (physical)
- 시간을 내다 = to carve out / make time for an activity
Diary tip: Anytime you write about "finding time to do X," use 시간을 내다, not 시간을 잡다.

Correction 3: 다니고 vs 다녀야하고 — Expressing Requirement
Before: 자동차운전학원에 다니고 이수해야 하는 시간수가 정해져 있다 After: 자동차운전학원에 다녀야하고 이수해야 하는 시간수가 정해져 있다
When listing two required actions, both need to carry the obligation:
- 다니고 → "goes to school, and…" (just a fact)
- 다녀야하고 → "must attend school, and must also…" (requirement)
Diary tip: When you list two required actions, make sure both carry 아/어야 하다 — not just the second one.
